HOT NEWS: President Muihammadu Buhari Apologizes to law makers

The presidential dinner billed to hold Thursday night at the Aso Rock Villa, Abuja failed to hold. 

This is because federal lawmakers invited to the dinner were turned back by security personnel who prevented them from entering the state house, venue of the dinner meeting.

It was not immediately clear why the security operatives turned back the lawmakers from both chambers of the national assembly from attending the dinner which was at the instance of president Muihammadu Buhari.

Consequently, the lawmakers called-off the dinner meeting.

President Buhari has apologised to the leadership of the national assembly over the incident which the lawmakers considered as embarrassing.

However, both the president of the Senate, Bukola Saraki and the speaker of the house of representatives, Yakubu Dogara met with president Buhari at his official residence in the villa, where they explained reasons why federal lawmakers decided to boycott the dinner altogether.

The presidential dinner with the federal lawmakers has been rescheduled for Tuesday next week.
